fine art photography by Sue Moon
To put nature and light into the camera, I roamed around mountain, field, and ocean, and found a special quality in each subject.
The purity of the dawn sky, the solemnity of the ocean, the soft formality of orchids, sand washed clean by the tides, even the desolate hills. All of these things continually change with the changing light, and offer surprising beauty.
I am overcome with gratitude that the light illuminates even me – ordinary as I am – so that I can see this world. I take photographs to put new beauty into my mind and into my camera, starting from this grateful and humble place.
Sue Moon is a photographer whose passion is in finding glimpses of unexpected beauty in ordinary things and places.
The remarkable images that she captures are ones that reflect the real wonder of the world around us. Her skill is in her ability to "see" and capture these evanescent and often overlooked images.
Sue Moon was born and raised in South Korea and has lived in Africa and Ohio. She has lived for the past ten years in Southern California. She has studied with renowned photographer John Ham.
